With people such as our fellow swede Avicii : Is there hope for guitar bands in 2014? There's always hope for guitar bands. I don't think everyone will be converted but that's the joy of it too. We really like what bands such as Big Deal, Crushed Beaks, Traams are doing. There are so many good guitar bands that aren't getting enough attention.

What's the story so far (for us who just haven't heard of you until now)?
We started in London in July 2012. I (Aoife) had just moved over from Ireland and Niall and Andrew had been trying to start a band so they asked me to play bass which I'd never played before and then we had our first gig two weeks later which wasn't actually that bad considering we hadn't a clue what we were about. Now we've an idea about the sound we want to create. Hush Hush is the first song that we recorded in a proper studio. All the other songs we have online were recorded in our practice space and houses by a friend of ours.

You are on Just Off Pop, how did that come about? And Alalal, what was it like working with him? (Alalal som arbetat med Metronomy, Plan B, Mystery Jets, Tracey Thorn m fl)
Jed from Just Off Pop contacted us saying he really wanted to release something for us and we really liked the idea of doing it with a new label. We're all starting out together which is nice. Alalal is so great to work with for loads of reasons. He's a really talented producer and understands the sound that we want which is the most important thing for us. We had a lot of fun working with him as he's got a great sense of humour and he happens to be Irish too so we've a lot of common ground.

Do you feel like you're part of a scene, or do you more feel like a lonesome swan in a lake?Who do you mix with?
We definitely don't feel part of any scene. Most of the people we spend time with aren't in bands. A lot of our friends are doing different creative things which is really nice and inspiring to be around.

Hush Hush is a rollercoaster of Lush/Ash-like fuzz-pop. Is that what we can expect on a regular basis?
Niall has really fuzz laden guitars which defines the sound and makes it consistent. Sometimes we write songs together and sometimes alone so there's different feelings and they may not all be so poppy but we do enjoy that sound.
